Precautions for Installing Disc Springs

Disc Springis a special type of spring, formed by pressing two cylindrical helical surfaces into a ring using mechanical devices or molds, hence it is also known as"Spring Press Machine" and "Disc Spring Machine". The disc spring machine is a type of spring press machine.
Disc SpringThe correct installation method not only ensures the good sealing performance of the disc spring but also extends its service life and reduces enterprise costs.
Disc SpringofThe installation mainly has the following precautions:
1. Check and confirm. Check whether the bolt material, working condition parameters, and size are consistent; check the integrity and specification of the disc spring. Ensure that the flange surface in contact with the nut is clean and smooth.
2. Use lubricant(or anti-seize agent)to lubricate the threads and nut surfaces to facilitate the uniformity of the bolt tightening force in practical applications.
3. Insert the disc spring into the bolt with the concave side facing the flange, and keep the disc spring concentric with the bolt. Then, initially tighten all nuts by hand, applying force evenly and carefully.
4. Adding a disc spring on both sides of the double-headed bolt at the flange connection can ensure that the upper and lower flanges are in a compressed state, compensating for the effects of pressure fluctuations and temperature changes, automatically tightening the gasket seal, and ensuring sealing effectiveness.(If installing multiple disc springs, please refer to the article:Schematic Diagram of Assembling Multiple Disc Springs)
5. Check the bolts in sequence in a counterclockwise or clockwise direction to confirm that all are securely fastened.
6. Ensure even force and tighten according to the diagonal principle. That is, first tighten one bolt, then tighten the diagonal bolt. The purpose is to ensure the uniformity of the flange fastening force, thus achieving better sealing. After all bolts are tightened, check the bolts clockwise or counterclockwise to ensure all are secured.
7. For flanges without leakage, when adding disc spring washers to existing bolts, the flange sealing gasket cannot be replaced. First, remove one bolt, replace it with a disc spring washer, then tighten it, and then replace another bolt. After replacing all bolts, tighten them all again to meet the sealing requirements of the flange. For flanges that have already leaked, replace the sealing gasket, and then add bolts and washers.
