The active disc finished component brake part, also known as disc brake part, is named for its shape. The brake disc is made of alloy steel and is fixed to the wheel when the wheel rotates. The contact of the active disc finished component occurs between the parts connecting the vehicle's fixed components and one or more brake discs at both ends. The contact material that only covers a small part of the disc surface of the disc brake part is called a caliper disc brake part. Advantages of the active disc finished component:
1. The braking torque is independent of the vehicle's front and rear movement.
2. Good thermal stability. Due to the size of the brake contact piece being short, its working surface area is only 12%~6% of the brake disc area, so it dissipates heat well.
3. The thermal expansion of the active disc finished component does not cause loss of brake pedal travel like the thermal expansion of brake drums, which also simplifies the design of the automatic gap adjustment device.
4. Good water stability. Due to the higher unit pressure of the disc brake pads, moisture loss is easy, and under the action of centrifugal force, moisture is easily expelled. Coupled with the wiping of the disc brake pads, normal performance can only be restored after the first and second braking, while it takes more than ten times of drum brake braking to restore normal braking efficiency.
5. The disc contact lining is easier to replace after wear compared to the drum contact lining, with a simpler structure and more convenient maintenance.
6. The gap between the active disc finished component and the contact piece is small (0.05-0.15mm), which shortens the working time of the cylinder piston, making it possible to increase the force transmission ratio of the brake drive mechanism.
Precautions for the active disc finished component:
1. The manufacturing requirements for the active disc are high, and the contact piece wears severely, making it expensive.
2. Due to the small area of the contact piece, the relative contact force of the working surface is also small, requiring higher brake hydraulic pressure. The vehicle must use a device with a booster, generally using a servo device.
3. The braking is rough. The two contact pieces with contact linings on the splined shaft can slide back and forth, which are the rotating parts of the brake. When braking, the vehicle can stop in a very short time. In addition, the angle of the ball groove on the pressure plate cannot be infinite, leading to unsmooth braking.
Currently, the active disc finished component brake parts have been widely used in domestic vehicles, with most disc brake parts used on all wheels. A few are only used as front wheel brake parts, paired with rear drum brake parts. Currently, new models and high-end models are gradually adopting disc brake parts.
